Natural stone

Every slab has its own movement, tone and natural features. Before cutting, the actual slab should be reviewed so vein direction, joints, finish and usable yield can be planned.

Engineered material

Engineered materials

Quartz composite, porcelain and acrylic offer more controlled geometry or repeatability. Limits for format, heat, edges and installation are checked against the specific manufacturer series.

Key components are positioned on photographs or the actual slab so joints and movement remain predictable.

Thickness and format

Slab size is checked against finished components, allowances, cut-outs and fabrication method.

Natural features

For natural stone we review fissures, pores, inclusions and other features of the actual slab before release.

Surface finish

Polished, honed or textured finishes change appearance, touch and in-use behaviour.

Edges, cut-outs and joints

Edge profiles, openings, grooves and joint positions are coordinated with drawings and the supporting structure.

Installation and access

Component weight, access route, lifts, stairs and installation conditions are considered before final cutting.

FAQ

Questions about material selection

Which material is best for a kitchen worktop?

There is no universal answer. Granite, suitable quartzite, quartz composite or porcelain are often considered for active kitchens. Marble is also used where its appearance is worth the additional care. Final selection should be based on the actual material and use case.

How is quartzite different from quartz composite?

Quartzite is a natural rock with a unique pattern in every slab. Quartz composite is an engineered material with more controlled decoration and properties defined by a specific manufacturer collection.

Can I choose the actual slab before fabrication?

Yes. For natural stone this is a useful step: the actual slab, vein direction, placement of key components and future joints can be approved before cutting.

Can onyx be backlit?

Yes. The translucency of onyx can be used for illuminated panels and feature compositions. Lighting, substrate, ventilation, fixing and service access should be designed together with the stone.

Which stone works for stairs or floors?

Selection depends on the room, traffic, moisture, required finish and maintenance. Granite or suitable quartzite are often considered for higher-load areas; marble and travertine are selected with the specific conditions and finish in mind.

Is the material price per m² the same as the finished product price?

No. Finished cost also depends on usable slab yield, thickness, geometry, edge profiles, cut-outs, joints, reinforcement, delivery and installation.

Why is slab layout important?

Layout allows vein direction, large-component composition, joints and the use of the most expressive areas of the slab to be approved in advance. It is especially valuable for marble, quartzite and onyx.

Can you fabricate material supplied by the client?

Client-supplied material can be considered after the slab is inspected for condition, dimensions, thickness and suitability for the approved drawing and fabrication method.
